How to Play Poker in Texas Hold'em Poker (n.). A game of pure chance, that is won or lost through an equal amount of skill. Like other card games, Texas Hold'Em has two types of hands. The flop hand and the turn-over. If the other players have folded, the game is called a flop. This is when you "flop" and then get the pot. During the betting game every player makes a contribution of a certain starting amount to the pool of bets. The money is split between the highest and lowest bidders. The next highest pot value is given to the bidder with the lowest value, then the highest, and so on. After the betting session is completed, players are free to call the deal if they want to; or if they do they do not, they will remain in the betting area. If the players have all folded and the dealer has revealed all the cards, face down. The dealer will announce the amount of chips in the pot as well as those remaining players after the cards are revealed. When all players have been declared, the dealer will deal five cards to each player and then place his small chip stack in the middle. If the flop is dealt the pot will change to the amount shown earlier in the previous betting round. At the end of the flop, the pot will again be the amount that was displayed in the previous betting round. If, for some reason, there's an unfinished deal following the flop, the pot will be divided between the players who won. The dealer will then hand out five cards to the other players after the flip. He will then set his large stack of chips in front of the dealer. The second player will now call the best possible hand in the event that he has an impressive hand, which means that all other players need to play a tough hand. The dealer then shows his cards and then asks the two players to play their most potent hand. If they both do then the pot will be split between them. The bet could be called by one player prior to the other. This is referred to as"low-ball bet. "low-ball wager."
