Where to Donate Clothes There are a lot of great reasons why you should find out more about where to donate clothes. One of the main reasons is simply because it's a great way to help out and help others in making their lives a little bit easier at Christmas. When you have specific items that you're trying to get rid of, this can be one of the best ways for you to do it. So, what are some of the places that you can go to when it comes to donating? The first place that you want to check out would be the Red Cross. This is an organization that has been around for centuries and they are constantly looking for ways to donate your unwanted or unused goods. They have a very generous program that allows people to donate any old clothes that they have in their closets, spare bedrooms, or even in their garages. They accept just about anything that can be considered as clothing. Another place that you could donate your clothes to is a local charity that offers services like furniture haul-outs, and eco-friendly Christmas tree removal services. These charities also take practically any type of item that you can think of, regardless of the type of material it's made out of. So if you have clothes that have stains on them, or old clothes that you don't really want anymore, you can donate these to these locations and hopefully get rid of them for good. One of the best places that you can go to when it comes to donating clothes would be the Goodwill Industries' donation center. The Goodwill Industries operates throughout the United States and Canada. What happens at their centers is that they take the donated clothes and other items that people give them, and they sort them out and redistribute them to various locations. You could walk in and volunteer at the center where you can get the task of sorting and then donating completed items handed to you right over the top of your head. The other part of this process is that once your chosen items are sorted out, you can then take your bag and drop it off at a local donation center, such as the Goodwill Outlet Mall. This is a great way to help you get rid of your used books and other clothing items in bulk that you don't need anymore. Another option for your used clothes would be your local thrift stores. Thrift stores accept all types of clothing, whether it's shoes dresses, pants, or any other type of clothing that you can think of. In exchange for your unwanted clothes, many of these stores will donate to local youth and women's organizations, such as Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. So, if you're looking for a great way to get rid of some of your extra clothing, why not donate some of yours? It may even pay off better than the money you'll make by selling the clothes you no longer wear or want. If you live near an elementary school, there's a good chance that you can walk to the playground and pick up all of the clothes the kids are wearing on their last day of school. Many elementary schools have a program where they donate clothes to charities throughout the school year. These charities are then sold to those who want to buy them. By walking to the school with your donation, not only are you helping yourself out with some extra money, but you're also helping out those children who are being physically abused by their classmates. One place that has become a very big hit with people who want to donate clothes and other accessories is the United Way, which has a website dedicated to offering people who are looking for ways to donate money a place to find local charitable groups where they can donate.
